This recipe for Chai Tea Waffles is the perfect breakfast to kick off the weekend!
I have a thing for chai tea. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that I find it warm and comforting, or that’s great for the chilly season or maybe the fact that’s one of those drinks that works great on mornings and afternoons and evenings. But to be completely honest with you, one of my favorite things is the smell of all the spices! So in an effort to incorporate more of that warm feelings into my everyday I decided to take it a step further and make some chai tea waffles.
And my friends, I have to tell you, you want to make these waffles! Seriously this is warm and spicy in the best possible way. For me, all the secret for the punch of flavor (and the amazing smell that comes with it!) is in the spices.
However, there are two ways to add the spices to these chai tea waffles. You can either buy a chai spice (the super convenient one where all the spices are mixed up for you and bottled up in a ready to go package) or do the spice blend yourself. I personally prefer to do the spice blend myself since I really like to be able to control it and tweak it, but it really depends on you and the amount of time you prefer to use in your waffle making endeavor.
