It’s no secret that essential oils can be useful for lots of different ailments, but pain is one of the hardest symptoms to manage for any health issue. Here are some of my favorite Essential Oils That Can Help With Pain.
Using essential oils to help manage your pain can be very effective and a great way to avoid or aid prescription drugs. Try these essential oils to help with your pain!
Chamomile is a great essential oil to use in pain management as it helps with things like spasms, cramps, back pain, and headaches because of the anti-inflammatory properties. Chamomile has many uses including sleep aid in teas, but chamomile essential oil is definitely one to pick up if you’re experiencing any kind of intense pain!
Eucalyptus has very strong anti-inflammatory properties as well as analgesic (think Icy Hot)! This is a great way to treat nerve pain and muscle pain caused by muscle injury or overuse. If you’re an athlete who experiences muscle aches after workouts, eucalyptus essential oil is a great one to have handy!
Pro tip: Eucalyptus essential oil is great for treating allergies as well!
Lavender is one of the strongest and most useful essential oils out there! It can be used for a variety of things including pain relief, headaches, relaxation, and more! It smells wonderful but the benefits are undeniable and it’s definitely worth having around in the medicine cabinet!
Pro tip: Add a few drops of lavender essential oil to some rice and create your own DIY microwaveable heating pad!
Frankincense is a one of the best essential oils to keep on hand for major injuries as it can act as a sedative and also alleviate stress. Of course it’s well known for treating pain, but the other uses make it a great essential oil to keep around.
Marjoram has been used for years for it’s sedative properties as well as its ability to relieve pain and aid in certain medical issues. It’s been known to help muscle spasms, migraines, and even asthma! There are tons of great uses for this essential oil and it smells amazing on top of everything. Keeping this essential oil on hand is a great idea because it can be used for so many things and most importantly, it’s great at pain relief!
Using essential oils to treat pain is a great route to take if you’re trying to avoid prescription medication, but it can also be a really great means to aid in prescription medication that you’re already taking. Always use your essential oils safely and do a quick Google search if you have any questions about how to use it (especially in regards to consuming).
