Prego Farmers’ Market® sauces and your fresh produce can be easily found at Walmart
For as long as I can remember crafting home cooked meals has been a part of family tradition. My early memories are of standing on a chair in front of the kitchen counter helping my mom read ingredients from her cookbooks and helping to gather ingredients from the cupboard, fridge, etc. As a child helping in the kitchen was always one of my favorite things to do and was a great way to spend time with my mom one on one. It also created a sense of pride for me, knowing that I was helping with such a big task and ultimately doing my part in providing my family with a good meal at the end of a long day.
Now, well into my adult years, I spend a lot of time going through old cookbooks and scouring the internet for new recipes to create for my family. On occasion, when I’m short on time I’ll indulge in pre-packaged foods, boxed dinners, etc. but given my early start in food prep I tend to stick more with simple, real ingredients as much as I’m able. I enjoy creating recipes from scratch while knowing exactly what ingredients are going into the meals I’m preparing for my family.
For the bulk of my shopping I like to head to my local Walmart. They always have the best ingredients, for the lowest price possible and I can take my time wandering the aisles looking for exactly what I need. This is especially true for their produce section which has so many yummy options to choose from that I’m always stopping in to grab a few things for the new recipes I’ve come across during the week.
The start of fall is always my favorite time to make home cooked meals for my family. In my mind fall is for comfort food and I’ve already compiled quite a list of recipes centered around foods that remind me of my childhood or that provide a pick me up when I’m feeling down. A lot of these recipes call for sauces, something that has always been a go to for me with comfort food, so, when I found the Prego Farmers’ Market® line of products I was immediately drawn to the appealing list of ingredients listed on the label.
I added some fresh, steamed spinach to this lasagna. Spinach is my favorite vegetable, I pretty much eat it in some form 5 days a week!
Crafted with delicious ingredients, the Prego Farmers’ Market® sauces use a variety of delicious ingredients that one might find at a corner market where the crops are grown locally. They boast a delicious taste and aroma that pleases the senses while satisfying the need for comfort food that my family craves. These ingredients include vine ripened tomatoes, garlic, basil. olive oil, black pepper and oregano and are picked at their peak to enhance the flavor to the fullest.
