Low Carb Sugar Almost Free Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
My version is made with sugar-free applesauce and sugar-free chocolate chips, letting you indulge guilt-free. So go ahead, have a slice (or two)! You won’t even miss the all that sugar!
This is one of my fave low carb recipes that I make, for a few reasons. One, it doesn’t taste diet-y in the least, and it’s healthy. I’ll treat myself to two slices and will usually let my kids indulge in a few, as well. They love the fact that it has chocolate chips in it, and they really don’t even know the difference between this recipe and a regular banana bread one!
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup sugar-free applesauce
- ¾ cup sugar-free honey
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3 mashed over-ripe bananas
- ½ cup sugar-free chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix together applesauce and honey.
- Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended.
- Stir banana mixture into flour mixture, add the chocolate chips, and stir just to moisten.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 1 hour, and then let cool.
