My kids love chocolate milk, but I, on the other hand, hate buying it every week! So I’ve come up with my own Copycat Homemade Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup Recipe! This tastes just like the real thing, but made simply with Hershey’s Cocoa, Water, Vanilla, Sugar, and Salt.
Ingredients
1⁄2 cup packed Hershey’s Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 cup water
2 cups granulated white sugar
1⁄8 teaspoon salt
1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Whisk cocoa powder and water together thoroughly in a large saucepan on medium heat. Once dissolved, add the sugar and stir thoroughly. Bring to a boil for three minutes, careful not to let it bubble over. Remove from heat and add the vanilla and salt. Let cool and place in an air tight container (I used one of my Ball Canning Jar Mugs).
That’s it! never pay for a jug of $2 chocolate syrup at the store again!
