So if you’re new to detox waters, you might be wondering how this works to help you cleanse and lose weight. Well, first of all, water. Any time you choose water over those sugar and calorie-laden drinks, you’re doing your body good.
I personally have never tried a “detox water” before, until I came across this recipe. Cucumber Lemon Water is one of the most popular recipes, so I figured I’d better get on it and finally try it for myself and see what all the buzz was about. I’m trying to kick my caffeine habit (limiting myself to just a cup of coffee a day), and ditch the soda, and it’s been hard. If you’re addicted, then you know what I mean. I could probably drink 2 cans of Dr. Pepper a day, but have tried weaning myself off and just drinking one instead. But that’s still no good, I know.
That’s when I finally decided to search Pinterest for detox waters and decided on this recipe for my first one. I already love lemon water, so adding cucumbers could only be better, right? Yes! It tastes great and is totally refreshing, especially after a workout or a hot summer day.
What I especially love is that the cucumbers and lemons have immunity boosting and anti-inflammatory agents that will help you feel better, period. Plus, you can even get one of these infused water bottles and drink it all day – the fruits will continue to infuse the water each time you fill up! I love my bottle and have found myself using it everyday so far!
Cucumber Lemon Detox Water
- 1 lemon
- 1 cucumber
- Slice the lemon and cucumber and place in a large pitcher
- Fill pitcher with about 3/4 water
- Add ice to the top and serve
You can use your infused water bottle for this as well, adding your fruits to the sleeve and refilling throughout the day (about 2-3 refills)!
