Little girls love wearing all sorts of flare in their hair, so help them get into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit when you craft this simple DIY St. Patrick’s Day headband. This headband is so easy to make, yet looks like something you would pay big bucks for at a local boutique. Easy to make, this is a project even the kiddos can get in on. Take a look at how to make your own!
Black elastic headband
Hot glue, glue gun
We were able to find all of these materials at our local dollar store. During the St. Patrick’s Day season they have several varieties of green flowers to choose from, so find something with some Irish flare that is sure to make this a festive piece!
1. Remove the bloom from the plastic stem. You will want the bloom to be as light as possible so snip away any plastic stem that remains underneath.
2. Apply a generous dab of hot glue to the underside of the flower.
3. Press the flower to the headband. Hold it in place for 1-2 minutes until the glue dries and the flower is secured well.
Would you believe you are done already? Now all you need to do is make sure the piece is dry and you are ready to roll. Slip this piece on as you would any other headband for a fun pop of St. Patrick’s Day color.
So what do you think of this DIY St. Patricks Day Headband? Head to your local dollar store and grab the supplies you need to give this festive, fun, and above all, FRUGAL St. Patrick’s Day kid’s craft a try. It is one you are sure to enjoy and so is your budget! My daughter wears mine even after the holiday!
