National S’mores Day S’mores Snack Mix Recipe
Yummy! There’s a day for everything, isn’t there? Well, did you know that August 10 is National S’mores Day! Yep! The first recorded version of the recipe can be found in the publication Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts of 1927. Hard to believe that nearly 90 years later this treat is still going strong and only gets yummier! For example, Keebler just came out with their own S’mores Cookies! You won’t hear me complaining – in fact, I’m going to share with you my own version of a S’mores treat – introducing ‘S’mores Snack Mix’ that I guarantee your kids will love!
- 2 cups Cocoa Puffs cereal (you could also use chocolate Cheerios!)
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 2 cups graham cracker flavored Teddy Grahams
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
- Optional: 2 cups raisins if you don’t want to use chocolate chips (but then it wouldn’t be S’moresy)
Simply add all your ingredients to a large bowl and stir to mix up. Store in a large Ziploc like container for several weeks or divide up into individual sandwich bags like I did and have them ready to go when your kiddos ask for a snack. Quick and easy!
