Top 10 DIY Ways to Get Rid of Ants

Lemon Juice

Use lemon juice in crack and crevices, windows and doorways to keep ants out

Cornmeal

Use cornmeal on your porch and/or deck to keep them from helping themselves to your BBQ

Vinegar

Use vinegar to wipe down surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom (take it a step further and use on your windows)

Bay Leaves/Cinnamon

Place bay leaves when ants appear to get in. Sprinkle cinnamon around crevices as well. They hate the smell!

Coffee

Use coffee grounds outside in your scrubs, grass, and garden (and any areas directly next to the house)

Baby Powder

Sprinkle a small amount of baby powder in crevices where the ants are getting in around the house

Cucumbers

Don’t throw your peeling away! You can use these at entry points as well

Chalk

Chalk is super easy to clean. Draw a line at the bottom of the front door, backdoor, garage door, and even in windows

Sugar & Boric Acid

1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons boric acid (<– i use this kind)
3 cups warm water
cotton balls
small container like these

First, mix the acid and sugar and then stir in the warm water (slowly, so it doesn’t get lumpy). Place a cotton ball into the mixture, covering completely. The ants will find the mixture and eat it and then take it back to the nest, where it will kill them off. Love this method!
